Interview conducted by:

Bud Wayne, Editorial Executive, CEOCFO Magazine, Published – February 20, 2017

CEOCFO: Mr. Malak, your website indicates that the VOIP-PAL goal is to “Connect the World”. Would you tell us about your technology and how you accomplish that? Are there hardware, software or application components?

Mr. Malak: The VoIP-Pal patent suite covers the central technology elements critical to operating a global telco (e.g. “connecting the world”). It accomplishes this while also complying with all applicable legacy governmental requirements, such as 9-1-1, Lawful Intercept, Billing and Roaming.

Our technology integrates legacy (PSTN and cellular) and modern (Internet based) modalities by utilizing caller and callee attributes to locate endpoints, and route communications (voice, messaging, data and other)

Our patented software based technologies can be cloud based, in the nodes or in embedded devices.

CEOCFO: How does your technology allow users to connect across multiple platforms that enable high-volume text, voice and digital multi-media communications?

Mr. Malak: Our patented technology is platform agnostic, being used by many of the largest telecommunication and social networking operators and has proven to be efficient and practical.

CEOCFO: How is it that your technology reduces capital requirements for network platforms and allows major network functionality to live in the Cloud, facilitating lowest cost transmission?

Mr. Malak: The VoIP-Pal patented technology suite is cloud friendly and therefore, can be efficiently and economically deployed. It is our belief that it is currently utilized in the cloud.

CEOCFO: Would you explain the value of being able to monetize data traffic across networks?

Mr. Malak: As the usage of legacy telecommunications systems declines, the need to meter and bill internet based communications becomes critical to government tax revenues. Voip Pal provides a solution to Internet billing and metering.

CEOCFO: Are you the first to come to market with such a broad scope technology?

Mr. Malak: Yes. When Voip-Pal started in late 2004, we had the vision that in ten years, the Internet would become the means for tele-communications, and would overtake legacy. Voip Pal employed over 20 engineers and deployed four nodes across the world to test and prove the validity of our vision. Our routing system enables such integration to work seamlessly, and more important, provides compliance as per Legacy regulations. Today, Voip Pal’s patented technology is being applied globally.

CEOCFO: What is your relationship with other platforms? Do you require partnerships to be in place?

Mr. Malak: After spending over 12 years in developing and testing, and more than seven years getting patents allowed by the USPTO, Voip Pal now is ready to license or offer for sale its patent technologies. We believe that we have hundreds of millions of indirect subscribers that are presently using our patent technologies.

CEOCFO: With sound traveling between cables, wire, tower, over the Internet, Wi-Fi and in the cloud these days, how do you ensure voice quality?

Mr. Malak: As the result of our call classification and routing technology we can dynamically select the best quality provider for voice, messages and other content delivery. This is currently being practiced in the marketplace.

CEOCFO: For many people ease of use is important. How do you guarantee that?

Mr. Malak: Our patented technology is being used now by most operators and has proven to be intuitive and capable.

CEOCFO: Would you tell us about the markets you are in? Are you focused on corporate users, consumers or both?

Mr. Malak: Our product is typically employed by system operators to classify and route voice, data and media communications, the end user would typically not be aware of the use of the patents, except to the degree that they would recognize the accuracy, speed and capability of their communication systems.

CEOCFO: Would you tell us about recent developments and your current focus in protecting such a revolutionary and important technology?

Mr. Malak: Since our products are typically integrated into hardware and software, our focus has been on recovering licensing fees from those in the industry who may be currently using our inventions. Our goal now is to license our patents or to have them acquired. In order to protect our IP, we have initiated legal actions for infringement against Apple, Verizon, AT&T and Twitter totaling approximately $9.7 billion, excluding punitive damages. Presently, there is stay of the proceedings in the litigation in the federal district court in Nevada pending the outcome of two Inter Partes Reviews filed by Apple that are being considered by the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

CEOCFO: As a public company how much of your focus goes into attracting investors? Do you currently have funding in place to grow your business or will you be looking to do a raise?

Mr. Malak: Voip Pal as a fully SEC reporting OTCQB company raises funds continuously. We have released our audit for September 2016 (fiscal year ending), and are pleased to report that we carry little debt. We are almost up to date with all of our payments. We welcome investors with vision. We must point out to everyone the Voip -Pal board has been associated with these technologies for more than 12 years. These are Dr. Colin Tucker, Professor Ed Candy and Emil Malak.

CEOCFO: Put it together for our readers, many of which are in the business, investment and tech communities. Why is VOIP-PAL such an important company for today’s communication needs and how are you changing the world?

Mr. Malak: Voip Pal is deployed everywhere today. We believe that the tremendous value of our vision and our patents is self –evident given the widespread use of our technology by hundreds of millions, if not billions, of subscribers.
