Company Profile:

Dylan's Candy Bar is an innovative new candy store located at the corners of Third Avenue and Sixtieth Street in Manhattan, New York. It was started by co-founders and owners Dylan Lauren and Jeff Rubin. Currently, their 5500 square foot store includes two floors dedicated to delivering the ultimate in candy shopping experience and even includes showcases exhibiting a candy museum.

Dylan’s Candy Bar offers a café and the world's most popular branded candies, with 5,000 different choices of sweets from all over the world. You can create your own special assorted bag of candy from over 300 different choices sold by the pound. Dylan's also offers the widest assortment of novelty candy in the world offering items such as Pez dispensers ranging in price from $1.99 to $5,000 for rare, vintage Pez collections. As well, they make private labeled, artistic confectionery gifts created exclusively for your shopping enjoyment. If you are looking for a new experience in aromatherapy, try Dylan’s candy scented spa items available separately or packaged in beautiful gift sets. The spa line offers everything from chocolate bar soaps to bubble gum bath fizz.

Dylan’s party room offers lots of candy fun for kids parties as well as corporate events, charity functions and even bachelor and bachelorette parties. In their party room they can currently accommodate up to 20 people, but planned expansion will increase that to 40. In a Press Release put out by Ashley Dodd/Jodie Ellis of Paul Wilmot Communication, dated June 1, 2002, Dylan’s “announced that they are currently doubling the size of their Manhattan store at 60th Street and Third Avenue. The renovations are expected to be completed by October 2002.” In the release, they also announced plans for a nationwide rollout of their flagship candy store by the first half of 2003.

CEOCFOinterviews: Mr. Rubin what is your position at Dylan’s Candy Bar.

Mr. Rubin: “I’m co-owner and co-founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar here in New York.”

CEOCFOinterviews: How has the candy bar business been going?

Mr. Rubin: “It has been going very sweet!”

CEOCFOinterviews: I’m sure that never has as truer word been spoken. I’m also sure that managing a successful company such as yours with multiple employees has its challenges. You have installed a product by a company called Sense Holdings, Inc. (OTC: SEHO), in your efforts to keep it running sweet. They are a company that develops and manufacturers biometrically secured human authentication and identification and time and attendance systems, which uses fingerprint characteristics to help determine who is on duty and monitor time, attendance. Which of their products have you installed?

Mr. Rubin: “We installed the finger print biometric system for time and attendance. We have looked at several solutions to time and attendance, but none have been as effective as the Sense Holdings (OTC: SEHO) system.”

CEOCFOinterviews: How long have you had the Sense Holdings system installed?

Mr. Rubin: “We installed this system about three months after we opened, which was right before Christmas. I was a little nervous being a retailer installing any new system in December, but they assured me that it would go off without a hitch and it did. Before that, we had tried using a POS (point-of-sale) system, time sheets and time cards, but none of them was as effective as the biometric system.

CEOCFOinterviews: How many employees do you have currently using the biometric system?

Mr. Rubin: “We currently have close to fifty hourly employees that use the system at the one location in New York.”

CEOCFOinterviews: Have you seen the results that you were looking for when you installed your Sense Holdings time and attendance system?

Mr. Rubin: “Definitely! The problem we had when using the POF system, being a very busy candy store, trying to ring customers in Manhattan, was that it was hard for the employees to get on the system. When we used sign in sheets, it appeared that none of our employees was late for work. However, the variance was incredible once we switched to the Sense Holdings system. Unfortunately, I would have to say that the system has been very useful.”

CEOCFOinterviews: I’m sure you say that from the perspective of a compassionate employer, but time is money and sometimes, you have to get that through to the people who work for you.

Mr. Rubin: “I totally agree and because we were able to track the accuracy of time and attendance we are able to ‘weed out’ people that are not productive.”

CEOCFOinterviews: Do you have Sense Holdings desktop unit or their wall unit?

Mr. Rubin: “It is the finger print sign in and sign out wall unit.”

CEOCFOinterviews: Are you a privately held company?

Mr. Rubin: “Yes, right now we are.”

CEOCFOinterviews: Thanks so much for your time, and I hope business continues to be sweet.

Mr. Rubin: Thank you.
