CEOCFO: Mr. Maxwell, what is Omni2Max?

Mr. Maxwell: Omni2Max is a professional service provider in the defense space. We like to think of ourselves as a technical solutions provider. That means that, with my background as a former military officer and senior federal government civil servant, I/we understand government needs and requirements. One of our unique selling propositions is; several of our corporate leadership members are former federal civil servants. This provides better insight as to what the government wants as it relates to providing a real time, no-nonsense futuristic solution.

CEOCFO: What types of situations do your solutions address?

Mr. Maxwell: We solve engineering issues, logistical issues, program management concerns and cyber security challenges. As an example, we provide a cyber forensics solution to Naval Criminal Investigation Services (NCIS). Our team dissects communication devices such as a cell phone. They will scrub the cell phone data, conduct a forensics analysis of the data, and also provide testimony for court proceedings. That effort provides the solution for a problem the government is trying to solve.

CEOCFO: Do agencies typically look to you to solve different types of problems or do you get pigeon holed in some way so that certain agencies only look at you as engineering or others might only look at you as security?

Mr. Maxwell: In terms of the culture of this company, I take pride in the fact that we are not one dimensional by any stretch of the imagination. We perform engineering solutions, cyber security, as well as logistics. We also step out of our core competencies when the business case presents itself. We provide paper for the government that is affixed to medicine bottles. We also provide industrial water treatment for several bases across the United States. We have performed various services from demolition construction to electrical installation of lighting. Categorically, we have provided diverse solutions that address a rather broad spectrum of problems. We are not a one dimensional company, where we only do one thing.

CEOCFO: When an agency might be looking to utilize your services, what gives them the confidence when they are looking at a company that only does procurement, to go with you?

Mr. Maxwell: What sets Omni2Max apart as far as our unique selling proposition is that three quarters of the leadership are former federal civil servants from various positions. I was a very Senior GS15 who was a Program Manager as well as Contracting Officer Representative (COR). If I am speaking with a government person and share that information with them, they immediately know that I understand their side of the business. I am certified in several of the defense acquisition requirements, so they know that not only do I understand their side, I also have certifications behind me. Therefore, we have a proven track record from other entities, a record that clearly demonstrates our ability to identify, assess and resolve problems. We are evaluated through the Contract Performance Appraisal Systems (CPARS). We have sustained exceptional CPARS ratings on several of our contracts.

CEOCFO: How do you decide what projects to bid on?

Mr. Maxwell: We first look at our core capabilities, which include skill sets of senior leadership and our diversified work force. For example, one of our internal skill sets is architectural CAD design drawings. That is something that is not in our publicized skill set, but we do look at programmatics or logistics management. I have been in the logistics arena for almost forty years. My vice president has been an engineer for the government sector for almost forty years as well. We look at projects we are very familiar with and have professional experience. We then take a cursory view of work we are not as familiar with to see if we can connect the dots. Opportunities such as managing industrial water treatment, which I have no experience in, nor does my vice president or director, is a prime example of taking measured risks. In lieu of our program management expertise, we realized we could integrate the water treatment regimen into a logistics realm where we could provide chemicals; ensure the water is at the correct salinity or temperature; and the water is flowing through the buildings properly. The business decision was based on a common sense approach and intellectual assessment we knew we could provide. However, if we were asked to provide a CAD design drawing of a building, we would not take that on because of the criticality of the answers required. We do not have that experience and would not do that.

CEOCFO: How do you stay ahead of the cyber security threats and assess what you are looking at for not on a specific project but also in general?

Mr. Maxwell: Here is the real answer to that question: What is cyber security? I bet if you asked, people would give you two different answers. I compare cyber security to logistics. What is logistics? Logistics is the act of identifying, getting from one point to the next, or quantifying a group of products, tracking items, storing items and that entire process. Cyber security could be someone tapping into this phone call. How do you avoid that? Cyber security could be accessing your computer or the logistics piece. You have to be aware what is going on in the world around you and how you protect data and the information flow at various levels. That is how we stay ahead of the game. It is being aware of what is happening in the world.

CEOCFO: According to the Omni2Max site, your guiding principles are integrity, innovation, commitment and trust. Where does the innovation come in?

Mr. Maxwell: One of the services we provide is software analysis, data and legacy conversions. The government has a lot of old 386 Pentium computers that have systems that they are still running. We come in and do and assessment, capture all that data, bring it into a modern sequel, into a modern current software language that is being used today, into a modern hardware system that is being used today. This provides the customer the ability to not lose past data but ensure current data is updated to what is going on today and have it available for any upcoming changes. We are always looking at what is happening tomorrow, looking for the new technology out there and how we can apply it. That is just one example of one of the things we do.

CEOCFO: What do you look for in your people, over and above technical skills?

Mr. Maxwell: We look for the ability to operate in group dynamics, the ability to be in a team. One of the statements that I make to individuals during the hiring process is; if you are looking for a job, then Omni2Max is not the place for you. If you are looking long term, to be on a team and part of the adventure, then you are the right person for the Omni2Max experience. We try to grow organically. We look for sincerity. We try to assess some of the candidate’s history to assure they are not just giving us lip service. If we do hire them and find out that they are not very good at what they were doing and do not have what it takes, we remove them from the company. We do not hold them on to drag the company down. Being a team player is very critical. It is what I look for in an individual. I can train them in other areas.

CEOCFO: Community involvement is important at Omni2Max. How do you decide where to focus your efforts?

Mr. Maxwell: That is a very good question. I am a natural helper. I like to always support the underdog. I understand the life that I lived, and I know some of the challenges that I experienced. I try to look back and give back. We support several different community events. For instance, I am champion of Just In Time, which is a foster youth program for young men that are just leaving the foster program and in that transition into adulthood, trying to find a job and overcome what it was like being in the foster system from whatever age they went in to the age of eighteen, when they were basically kicked out. The focus is to be a mentor, help them through those challenges and provide opportunities for them. We also are the sponsor for the Victory Christian Academy Technology Arm. We have young men and women that are super advanced in technology, doing 3D printing and data processing. In their schools, none of the students have books. They all use an iPad. They track the video, voice, and data margin of how the school functions. If you have one class that is hogging the data flow and slowing the system down, they can identify down to the actual computer system that does that.

We are very big in the S.T.E.M area, science, engineering, technology and math. Trying to communicate with young minds to help them understand the technology advancements that are out there, and not try to hold them back. I am reminded of the days when I was a young kid where we could play in the back yard in a cardboard box and let our imaginations take us all around the world. Yet, we understand that we are not living in that environment anymore. We understand that kids are using cell phones, have the internet and all sorts of accessibility to different things. We try to touch those areas and see where the biggest needs are in those areas. If someone comes to us, we sponsor. If you come and ask me to sponsor a Golf tournament and support of Pro Kids, as we have just done, then you will get our full support.

CEOCFO: We came upon Omni2Max from the Inc 5000 list. We know business is good. How do you continue on the trajectory?

Mr. Maxwell: We step up our game. We understand that we do not live for our wins today. We have to keep ourselves humble, committed, focused on technology and understand what it takes to grow our business. I travel. I probably travel more than 150,000 air miles a year because our company is a national company, and we are mobile in order to understand what is happening in the nation. In order to stay relevant, one must be in a relevant environment. We know that we cannot rest on our laurels. It goes back to what I said earlier. If you want to be a part of a team and an adventure, this is what we are about. We are not stagnant or merely enjoying that last win. We will not be complacent until the next win. We know what it takes, and we have specific goals. Everyone in the company knows where my vision is as the leader of this company, where we are trying to take it, and what it takes to get there. We do training and weekly staff meetings. We see where we are, where we need to go, and how well we are doing in getting there. We keep it alive, and fresh. We try to make sure everyone understands that. The communication across the company is very important. As long as everyone knows the direction you are going in, I believe that supports and propels the growth of the company.
