Tsecond.ai – Providing he Smallest Form Factor in the World Delivering up to a Petabyte of Storage Combined with AI making their BRYCK Platform Perfect for Mission Critical Environments

Sahil Chawla

Co-founder / CEO

Tsecond.ai

Interview conducted by:

Bud Wayne, Editorial Executive

CEOCFO Magazine

CEOCFO: Mr. Chawla, would you tell us about the founding of Tsecond and how it developed to where you are today?

Mr. Chawla: Tsecond.ai was founded in 2020 in the Bay Area, along with my co-founder Mana, who is our CTO, and Ramesh Singh, our co-founder and board member. We founded the company with the vision to capture and process large amounts of data securely in mission-critical environments. Our first round of funding was led by HorizonX. That helped us tackle the problem of capturing data from moving objects like planes, drones, or submarines — capturing and processing the data right at the edge.

CEOCFO: Was your BRYCK platform developed in-house, or was it through acquisition?

Mr. Chawla: BRYCK is a platform that was completely developed in-house. There were two IPs we acquired to build on top of, and that is how we built a hyperconverged solution like BRYCK. It is the smallest form factor in the world delivering up to a petabyte of storage.

CEOCFO: Would you tell us about your BRYCK platform? Is there hardware needed, or is it exclusively software or SaaS? How does it integrate?

Mr. Chawla: BRYCK is a hyperconverged platform with hardware and software together, so it is an integrated system. The product family covers the full spectrum — from a single solid-state drive up to a military-grade airborne system.

We have the world’s first 128-terabyte U.2 SSD. We offer a portable platform powered by an NVIDIA BlueField DPU, with up to 512 terabytes of storage in the smallest form factor. We also have BRYCK Turbo HPC, which can go up to 2 terabytes of RAM along with an NVIDIA GPU. And we have another product called BRYCK-FXR, which is a rugged edge AI kit built for the disconnected world.

On top of the hardware is our BRYCK OS software stack, which runs a Linux operating system. We also have a ransomware recovery system that can run offline, as well as automated encryption key management. Finally, we integrate the platform with all the major clouds, such as AWS, with automated key management using AWS KMS.

In addition, we have partnerships with companies like BigBear.ai, which integrates its platform on top of BRYCK.

CEOCFO: Tsecond is a defense technology company delivering low-SWaP edge AI and high-performance storage for mission-critical operations in contested environments. What is low-SWaP edge AI, and how does it make a difference in mission-critical operations? Why is it needed, for example, in the defense industry?

Mr. Chawla: SWaP stands for size, weight, and power. We are delivering more compute and more storage in a smaller, low-power package. In a traditional data center, none of these things mattered. But on a drone, on a tactical vehicle, or on a soldier’s back, it is everything.

A backup server is useless if you cannot fit it into an aircraft, power it from a generator, or move it when the mission moves. Our platform is designed for what we call the "disconnected world," where cloud connectivity is unavailable or unreliable.  It can run on battery power, and you can run the model offline, with mission-critical language models at the edge.

CEOCFO: When you say mission-critical operations, is your platform strictly for warfare, or does it have applications in other environments?

Mr. Chawla: We are not strictly warfare at all. We are a defense tech company first, and that is our identity. The platform was designed from day one for any environment where conditions are too harsh for conventional infrastructure. We are also used commercially in aerospace, vehicle deployments, and media and entertainment.

CEOCFO: Where are you making inroads into these different sectors?

Mr. Chawla: We have partnerships with system integrators and solution providers that deliver complete infrastructure. We collaborate with these partners on end-to-end solutions across various programs in the U.S. and around the world.

On the other hand, we also work closely with application companies to integrate “AI in the box” solutions that go into the enterprise world, media and entertainment, oil and gas, and the broader energy sector. So we have application partners we work with very closely.

CEOCFO: You recently closed on $21.5 million in financing. How will that be used?

Mr. Chawla: To clarify, the $21.5 million is the total we have raised to date across our rounds. That capital is being used to expand our presence in the U.S. and focus on large programs in the U.S. defense industry. It will also support some development in the U.K. and India, and we will continue to grow our partnerships on the application side.

CEOCFO: You have already developed some great partnerships. Are you looking for more partners, and if so, for what purpose — product-related, expansion, or growth?

Mr. Chawla: We have a large partner ecosystem, including being in the AWS Marketplace. We also work with companies like BigBear.ai and other application partners. We are an OEM partner with large primes as well, which helps us with technology partnerships and extends our solution from the moving edge to the data center to the cloud. So our partnerships help us both in go-to-market and in delivering complete solutions.

CEOCFO: Do you have an in-house team that reaches out to people in the various industries?

Mr. Chawla: Yes, we have an in-house team we call our Solutions Team, and they design solutions for the end customer. We make sure we meet each customer’s requirements.

CEOCFO: Last year, you brought on Raj Iyer to be part of your leadership team. Would you tell us about him and why this was important?

Mr. Chawla: Last year, we made the decision to bring in Dr. Raj Iyer as part of our leadership team. Raj was the first-ever civilian Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Army, where he managed an IT budget of around $16 billion across the Army’s operations worldwide.

Before Tsecond.ai, he was also the global head of public sector at ServiceNow and, earlier, a partner at a Big Four consulting firm. We brought Raj on as our President of Public Sector to lead our strategy in the U.S. market. He has deep insight into how the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, and allied governments procure and deploy technology solutions. His leadership has been instrumental in accelerating our federal go-to-market.

CEOCFO: Are you strictly focused on the U.S., or if not, what other regions are you servicing?

Mr. Chawla: We are a U.S.-headquartered company, and the U.S. alone is roughly a $340 billion market for us. We are also working with NATO in the European region and in parts of Asia, particularly India. That said, our primary focus remains the U.S.

CEOCFO: How was 2025 for you, and how will 2026 be different? Where will growth come from? Will it be through extending your global reach or the U.S.?

Mr. Chawla: We will go deeper into the programs we are already in with U.S. defense. Early on, it takes time for qualifications, certifications, and understanding the requirements, so that was much of our focus in 2025. Now, in 2026, our focus is to increase volume and go deeper. We have a large pipeline in U.S. federal, and our goal is to expand within the programs and solutions we are already part of.

CEOCFO: In closing, what is your competition, and what gives you an edge? Why choose Tsecond?

Mr. Chawla: Our competition falls into two camps. One is storage, and the other is AI compute. But there is no solution that combines both in the smallest form factor the way we do.
