CEOCFO: Ms. Hubbard, what is the vision behind Awaken and Align with Tonya?

Ms. Hubbard: The vision behind Awaken and Align is to help people reconnect with their inner wisdom, embrace their growth, and remember who they truly are. My work is about creating a space where clients can uncover the answers that have always been within them.

Awaken and Align is about guiding people back to the truth of who they’ve always been.

That’s the heart of my vision—supporting individuals as they step into alignment with their authentic selves and rediscover their power to live with clarity, purpose, and peace.

CEOCFO: How do you do that?

Ms. Hubbard: I start by giving clients the space to talk through their goals, concerns, and curiosities. From there, I gently introduce grounding practices and the support they need to reclaim their power. That might look like meditation, breathwork, or reflective tools such as journaling and written exercises. Every person is different, so I draw from these practices in a way that meets them where they are, creating space for clarity, healing, and growth.

CEOCFO: How do you decide what is best for any given client?

Ms. Hubbard: I believe my clients make the final decision, not me. My role isn’t to tell them what to do or direct their lives; it’s to support them in shaping the life they want. For example, if someone comes to me overwhelmed by anxiety, we work together to uncover the root cause and explore ways to bring them back into balance so they can step into their fullest self. That might involve meditation, journaling, or other practices, but the approach is always tailored to what resonates with them. The client is ultimately the guide, and I’m there to walk beside them and offer tools and support along the way.

CEOCFO: Who is turning to you for help?

Ms. Hubbard: It really varies. On some days my schedule is filled mostly with women, and on others I have men who reach out for support. Traditionally, women have been more accustomed to seeking therapy or coaching, while many men were taught to “tough it out.” Thankfully, that’s shifting, and I’m seeing more men beginning to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being.

I also work with teenagers through a nonprofit; particularly young men in high school who are learning to navigate life’s challenges. In my private practice, many of my clients are mothers, often in their 30s and beyond, who want space to process their concerns and reconnect with themselves. So, the range is wide—from teenagers finding their footing to adults seeking clarity, healing, and empowerment.

CEOCFO: Your site shows, “Where Inner Peace Meets Bold Action.”  In what way?

Ms. Hubbard: Many people believe action has to look busy or exhausting, but real action doesn’t come from being in constant motion. The most powerful impact is created when you are grounded in peace. When you are at peace, you have clarity, focus, and energy to act with intention. Without that inner calm, action often feels scattered, because your mind is caught in over-thinking. Inner peace allows bold action to flow naturally—and that’s when transformation truly happens.

CEOCFO: How important is the world situation, the economy, the crime, whoever happens to be in power politically?  How much does the outside world affect what you are trying to do with your clients?

Ms. Hubbard: Of course, the outside world affects us we all live in it. But one of the first things I encourage my clients to do is take a break from the noise. Constant news and media can overwhelm and even paralyze us. Sometimes a 30-day detox from all that loudness is exactly what people need to regain balance.

I remind my clients that while we can’t control everything happening globally, we do have power over the microcosm we create for ourselves. The question becomes: What do you want your reality to look like? When you focus on empowerment, peace, or possibility, you begin to see more of that reflected back to you. Neuroscience even backs this up—what we look for, we find more of. That’s how we create a reality that supports growth and well-being, even in a noisy world.

CEOCFO: Awaken and Align with Tonya has different packages and offerings.  How do you help a client figure out what is best for them?

Ms. Hubbard: I like to begin with a 20-minute discovery session. During that time, we explore their goals, what they hope to accomplish, and what they want to experience through coaching. That conversation gives us clarity on which package best fits their needs—or if we should create something customized just for them.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to coaching. The packages provide a framework, but they can always be adjusted—built up or scaled down—so each client gets exactly the level of support that serves them best.

CEOCFO: What has changed in your approach over time and what have you learned as you have work with more people?

Ms. Hubbard: I’ve learned to relax—and that’s something I now encourage my clients to do as well. Life is going to happen, whether we’re ready or not. It’s a bit like riding a train: if you’re stiff and trying to move against the motion, you’ll get knocked off balance. But if you walk with the train in the direction it’s going, you find your steadiness. That’s how life works too. When we relax and flow with it instead of resisting, we discover our balance and our strength.

CEOCFO: How do you reach out to new customers and how do people find you?

Ms. Hubbard: Much of my business comes through word of mouth. The nonprofit work I do also brings clients who connect with me through that unique space. I receive referrals through the International Coaching Federation, and my continuing education with the Coaching Training Alliance is another place where people discover me. In addition, I speak at events, and often people will approach me afterward because something I shared resonated with them, and they want to explore coaching further.

CEOCFO: Would you like to do speaking engagements more often or is that a sideline to the coaching?

Ms. Hubbard: It is sort of a sideline to the coaching. I tend to do better with a one-on-one because then we can talk more about what is going on specifically with that individual. If I am talking to a group, then it is like going to a play or a church, you can see the performance, but that sermon may or may not be for you that day. If you are one-on-one, it is always for you.

CEOCFO: When you are first talking with a potential client can you tell if they are serious and ready to do the work?

Ms. Hubbard: Absolutely. For me, the key is listening—really listening. So often, people hear just to respond, but I focus on hearing both what is said and what remains unspoken. The unspoken often tells you just as much, if not more, than the words themselves.

When someone is still in a place of repeating “I did this” or “she did that,” they’re usually seeking validation, not transformation. That’s not wrong; it’s just where they are on their journey. I hold space for that, because sometimes people need to release and feel heard before they can move forward.

But the shift comes when I start hearing, “What did I do?” That moment of self-reflection signals readiness. It shows they’re open to growth, accountability, and the deeper work of transformation. That’s when I know they’re serious about stepping into the process and truly ready to do the work.

CEOCFO: There are many coaches available. Why choose Awaken and Align with Tonya?

Ms. Hubbard: While there are many coaches to choose from, what makes Awaken and Align with Tonya unique is the space I create for my clients. It’s not just about guidance; it’s about holding a safe and supportive container where you can truly be yourself without judgment. My approach blends spiritual coaching, emotional wellness, and mindset development, along with transformative practices tailored to each client’s needs.

I work with courageous souls who are ready to heal, grow, and expand into their fullest potential. What clients consistently tell me is that our work together is not only supportive but also deeply transformative. With me, you won’t just find coaching—you’ll find a trusted partner who walks beside you as you step into a more aligned, empowered version of yourself.
